January 3, 2024
Good Morning Gardiner Hawks! These are your announcements for Wednesday, January 3rd
Please stand if you’d like to participate in the Pledge of Allegiance. If you choose not to participate, please remain respectfully silent.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the
Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and
justice for all.
You may be seated.
We also take time today to read our land acknowledgement. This is in front of our school near the office. Come by and take a look!
We acknowledge the land on which we sit and occupy today as the traditional home of the tribal nations, Clackamas, Watlala also known as Cascades, Clowwewalla also known as Willamette Tumwaters, and Northern Molalla. All of whom were relocated after signing the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 to the Grand Ronde Reservation and today their descendants are members of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. With gratitude, we look forward to the generations for whom this will be a place of learning.
Welcome back Gardiner Hawks students and staff. I hope everyone had a nice break. Tomorrow and Friday we will be on a double advisory schedule as we get back into the swing of things.
Weird Word Wednesday: Widdershins – Moving in a counterclockwise direction
"My dog always turns widdershins three times on his bed before lying down."
Today’s lunch options from the kitchen include:
Build Your Own Nachos, Tacos, Burritos
Calzones with baked beans - Cheese, Pepperoni
Grab & Go’s : Salads, Sandwiches, Parfaits
