The Role of a School Counselor

School counselors are vital members of the educational team. We help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development, and career awareness (American School Counseling Association, 2013).

We love building partnerships and working closely with the families of Gardiner Middle School students and the Oregon City School District staff to help facilitate and implement our Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program. Please do not hesitate to call or email with any concerns you have regarding your student. We are here to help students and parents through this exciting and challenging time of transition.

The registrar takes the lead on processes that involve records, including:

  • new student enrollment

  • annual registration

  • student transfers mid-year

  • maintaining student cumulative files

  • processing records requests
