Good Morning Gardiner Hawks! These are your announcements for Friday, October 6th

September 15th to October 15th is Hispanic Heritage Month. Famous Hispanic actress Rita Moreno is one of only 18 people to have achieved an EGOT (that means she won and Emmy for acting on TV, and Grammy for music, an Oscar for acting in a movie, and a Tony for acting on a Broadway stage).

Attention ALL Gardiner students, For the month of October we are holding a school-wide contest. Gardiner students are respectful, responsible, safe and kind. Responsible students get to class on time and are prepared to learn. Therefore, for the month of October, the neighborhood team with the fewest number of tardies will win 15 additional minutes of recess. Remember, get to class on time, and let's do this, Gardiner!

Today is the last day of National Banned Books Week. During Banned Books Week we celebrate our freedom to read whatever age-appropriate materials we want to read in our schools. Check out the banned books display this week in the ALC and participate in the banned books challenge to expand your worldview and win prizes!

Today we are on a special schedule. We will have bus evacuation training for all students during advisory. The special schedule will flip flop period 1 and advisory. Everyone should be in your period 1 class. After period 1 you will go to advisory for bus evacuation training. When advisory is over you’ll go to period 2.
