Good Morning Gardiner Hawks! These are your announcements for Tuesday, January 23rd

New Indoor Walking Loop at Lunch! This week due to the rainy weather we will try out a new activity during lunch! We will open part of the top floor near ALC and Student services as an indoor walking loop. You can walk and talk with friends, stay warm inside when it’s rainy outside, and get some extra steps in! Staff will be on the top floor showing you the loop path. Please remember to walk at all times! 

Do you enjoy fitness and helping others? A career as an athletic trainer might be right for you! Athletic trainers are health care workers who diagnose and treat people who have injured their muscles or bones. They also teach others how to prevent injuries. Their patients are usually athletes. Most athletic trainers work at schools, hospitals and fitness centers. Professional sports teams also employ athletic trainers.

Athletic trainers deliver athlete medical care and provide first aid; they monitor athletic events and team practices; and they help prevent athletic injuries through education and training.

Education needed to be an athletic trainer includes a college degree in sports medicine. Athletic trainers can earn anywhere from $31,000 a year to $74, 000 a year. 

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics classifies this as a "bright outlook" occupation due to its excellent job outlook. This is due to a growing national awareness of sports-related injuries and the fact that Americans are remaining active well into their older years.

Don’t forget to sign up for Gardiner’s Ski Bus for February!  The sign up is on the Gardiner website and there are a few spots left!!

Thursday is the last day of first semester and there is no school for students on Friday!
