Good Morning Gardiner Hawks! These are your announcements for Monday, November 6th

Please stand if you’d like to participate in the Pledge of Allegiance. If you choose not to participate, please remain respectfully silent.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the

Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and

justice for all.
You may be seated.

We also take time today to read our land acknowledgement. This is in front of our school near the office. Come by and take a look!

We acknowledge the land on which we sit and occupy today as the traditional home of the tribal nations, Clackamas, Watlala also known as Cascades, Clowwewalla also known as Willamette Tumwaters, and Northern Molalla. All of whom were relocated after signing the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 to the Grand Ronde Reservation and today their descendants are members of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. With gratitude, we look forward to the generations for whom this will be a place of learning.

In 1804, Lewis and Clark began their expedition to explore the western portion of North America. An invaluable member of the group was a Shoshone teen girl named Sacagawea. Sacagawea was fluent in multiple languages, had vast knowledge of terrain and plant life, and accompanied the expedition while she was pregnant! Most historians agree that if Sacagawea hadn't been there, Lewis and Clark probably wouldn't have made it all the way to the Pacific Ocean.

Picture Retakes are Wednesday this week!  If you are having your pictures retaken please remember to bring your original packet back to give to them.  If you have not had pictures taken yet this year, you will be able to order from Dorian online.

This is a 4 day week.  Friday is Veteran’s Day.

Please check the Lost and Found!  We have lunch boxes, clothes and water bottles that need to go home.

The first dance of the year is right around the corner! It is this Thursday, November 9th from 6:30pm-8:00pm and is open to all Gardiner students. Tickets will be sold prior to the event on Wednesday the 8th and Thursday the 9th and are $5 each. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door.
