Good Morning Gardiner Hawks! These are your announcements for Wednesday, November 1st

ALL wood shop classes bring your Chromebooks to class!

We are on a special assembly schedule today!  We will be having a very fun, educational assembly to begin Native American and Alaska Native Heritage Month.  After Period 2 you will head to your Advisory class to prepare for the assembly. 

November is Native American and Alaska Native Heritage Month.  The month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people. Throughout the month we'll share announcements about our history, and present day.

Right now, there are 574 federally recognized tribes in the United States, with many more working towards recognition. 

Please do not throw the forks and spoons in the garbage! There are plastic tubs on tables to put the utensils in.  If they end up in the garbage we won’t have them available.  We want to be green, and think about our impact on the earth by using utensils that can be washed and re-used.  If we lose these, we’ll have to go back to single use plastics, which get thrown away, end up in landfills, and have a negative impact on our environment.

This week is only a 4 day school week.  We will have Friday off for Staff Professional Development.

At the end of the day, please remember the first bell is to dismiss anyone who’s walking home, riding a bike, skateboarding, or riding a scooter.  Remember that you need to walk your wheels until you’re off campus and away from cars and buses.  The second bell is to dismiss anyone who rides a bus.  Bus riders should all head to Timber Hall and stay in Timber Hall until your bus route is announced.  Please walk out of the building, and continue to walk on the sidewalk to board your bus.  

  Weird Word Wednesday:

      Today’s word is…Bumbershoot  -  an umbrella

          Later this week, when it starts to rain, you should bring your bumbershoot.
