Today at lunch you can write a note to be delivered to a friend on Wednesday, February 14! There is no cost for this event, just stop by the table at lunch and write a note. Did you know that no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. Choose to be kind every day!

Do you enjoy working with animals? A career as a veterinarian might be right for you!  Veterinarians serve the healthcare needs of animals, including small animals, livestock, avian, zoo and laboratory animals. Commonly called "vets," small animal veterinarians do most of their work in private clinic settings. 

Some vets care for more exotic pets such as ferrets, snakes, and lizards. Some veterinary specialists have completed additional training in a specific area of veterinary medicine. These specialities include surgery, dentistry, emergency care, and nutrition.

In addition to being able to diagnose and treat the animals, veterinarians also communicate effectively with the animals' owners. This often includes explaining diagnoses and treatments in down-to-earth, common language.

Education needed to be a veterinarian includes a doctoral degree in veterinary medicine. Veterinarians can earn anywhere from $58,000 a year to $160, 000 a year. 

The demand for veterinarians is expected to grow at a rate of 16% between now and 2029, almost four times the average predicted growth for all occupations combined, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. People are expected to spend more money on their pets and this will drive the higher demand for veterinary services.
